Esta semana nossa Brugmansia, (Pink Brugmansia Suaveolens) floriu novamente.
Enfeitando e perfumando nosso quintal, atraindo muitas abelhas e colorindo de rosa e por alguns minutos, de rosa e branco as nossas vidas.
Carregada de Flores.
É assim que todas as manhãs ela me diz
"Bom Dia!"
Na Segunda-feira procurando idéias para uma nova série de blocos para o Rainbow Scrap Challenge - 21 me deparei com um quilt que chamou minha atenção Log Cabin Beads.
O bloco usado é o Cabana de Toras fora do centro (off center Log-Cabin). Perfeito para usar as tiras em diversos tons de rosa com
2 ½" de largura (aproximadamente 6,5cm).
Como não tenho a revista Quilt Sampler - Spring/Summer 2014, continuei pesquisando na internet.
No vídeo entretanto não foram divulgadas as medidas das unidades e por minha própria conta e risco fiz 4 blocos, que unidos resultaram em um quadrado medindo 20", muito grande para o que eu estava imaginando.
Foi necessário ajustar o tamanho final de cada bloco.
Com a ajuda do software EQ Eletric Quilt ficou mais fácil.
Cada Log Cabin com a medida de 8" composto por 9 unidades, sendo 5 de tecidos cor de rosa e 4 partes de tecido branco/neutro.
Os tecidos cor de rosa com
2 ½" de largura e os neutros/brancos com 1½".
Gostei do resultado, consegui usar boa parte das tiras e tenho 2 blocos cor de rosa com 16".
Ainda não sei exatamente o que fazer com aquele primeiro bloco maior, alguma sugestão?
Como ainda teremos 3 semanas até o final do mês, talvez eu ainda faça mais alguns blocos, quem sabe...

What pretty blocks playing with different sizes of blocks is so much fun. The too large sizes could always be used on the back. Or as pillows or placemats... so many choices for orphan blocks.
I've always liked the log cabin layout. Well done for preserving to get the size right!
Those flowers are so beautiful! My Amaryllis are close to flowering, that is how I have flowers in the winter. The log cabin blocks are cute. This will be a lovely quilt, happy stitching!

Your log cabins are pretty in pink, Ivani! I love that design that creates a circular look when you put 4 together.
The flower is gorgeous. Log cabins are so much fun to make. Way to use up those scraps!

I love the brugmansia flowers - the lines in the flowers look quilted.
Your log cabin beads are beautiful. Perhaps the larger one can be the centre of a baby quilt, or quilt for Love Quilts Brasil? Maybe surrounded by smaller normal log cabins?

The flowers and the blocks are all so lovely! Pink is such a wonderful color to help us feel spring-like. Angela (comment above) had some good ideas for that big block. It would make a lovely pillow (cushion). It’s so good to have you joining us again with RSC!
I always have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that it's spring in the other half of the globe. Beautiful flowers! You picked a great block for the RSC challenge. You could sue your large block as part of the backing once you finish the other RSC blocks.
I love the blocks. It is nice to see flowers. My part of the USA has snow on the ground. Flowers are 3-4 months away.

Way to work your way around the block and make it a more manageable size. Your pinks are beautiful as are your flowers. With the large block you could use it for one side of a tote maybe?
